The Challenge

5% of disadvantaged sixth form students enrol at the most selective universities compared with over 12% of all students, and over 60% of independent school students

Our Vision

More equal access to the most competitive universities and courses

At Next Step Foundation, we believe that all students, regardless of background, should have the opportunity to fulfil their academic potential through access to the best universities across the UK.

We help disadvantaged and underrepresented students to make competitive applications to the UK’s most highly selective universities and courses, whilst working with them to form the skills, knowledge and confidence that allow them to achieve their ambitions at university and beyond.

We believe our programme has more impact on students’ application success rates because:

  • It develops the skills and knowledge over the long term leading to real confidence
  • We are online and always have been, this allows us to reach more students
  • Our sessions are taught live
  • The programme is built on decades of expertise from Bonas MacFarlane Education and supported by 600+ exceptional tutors and academic experts
